A day with Kandinsky, Mondrian, and Magritte.
Side note: can anyone clear up to me why on some pieces, Mondrian’s signature contains two “A’s” while others only consist of one. Hmmmm?
best moment of 2012?
seeing this Goddess perform “Rabbit Heart” live……I still tear up a little up just watching it.
close second? Seeing the coolest person on the fucking planet live and in person: JACK WHITE.
AND ALSO: these galz right here…..what would my life be without them?

What I’ve learned in my young adulthood
The most powerful image from Thursday night’s coverage was the one of the American gold medal winner, gymnast Gabby Douglas, and her coach, Liang Chow. Not only did it whip up some good old national pride, it exemplified what’s so wonderful about the U.S.
So many of the other teams are a sea of sameness. The Danes look mostly like Danes. The South Koreans look like South Koreans. The Nigerians look like Nigerians
But what does an “American” athlete look like? None of the above — and all of the above. It looks like Gabby. It looks like Liang. They all look like Americans.
